Mohammad Hossein Sarikhani was killed on January 9, 2026, the very first day of his eighteenth year, by direct gunfire from the suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic.
Born on January 7, 2008, Mohammad Hossein was shot by suppressive forces around 2 a.m. on January 9 on Daneshgah Street in Qazvin. Eyewitnesses reported that he was shot twice: one bullet hit his chest, and another injured his leg. After the shooting, he was left on the street, and no assistance reached him for hours.
Informed sources indicated that Mohammad Hossein tried to contact his friends, but due to internet and phone service disruptions, he was unable to reach anyone. Eventually, he was transported to the hospital by an unknown passerby.
At the hospital, suppressive forces prevented medical treatment for those injured in the protests, and because of this, Mohammad Hossein succumbed to his injuries on the morning of January 9.
His body was handed over to his family on January 12, 2026. Security agencies pressured the family to present and bury him as a "Basij and governmental martyr" or to pay 300 million tomans for the release of his body. The family of the 18-year-old refused this request and managed to pay the amount with the help of some relatives.
His funeral and burial ceremony took place under the watch of security forces and was attended only by a small number of his close relatives.

«محمدحسین ساریخانی» روز ۱۹دی۱۴۰۴ و درست در اولین روز هجده سالگی اش با شلیک مستقیم گلوله نیروهای سرکوب جمهوری اسلامی کشته شد.
محمدحسین ساریخانی متولد ۱۷دی۱۳۸۶ بود. او بامداد ۱۹دی حوالی ساعت ۲بامداد در خیابان دانشگاه قزوین هدف تیراندازی نیروهای سرکوب قرار گرفت. شاهدان عینی گفته اند دو گلوله به او زدند: «یکی به سینه و دیگری پای او را مجروح کرد. پس از تیراندازی در خیابان رها شده بود و تا ساعت ها هیچ کمکی به او نرسید.»
منابع آگاه می گویند محمدحسین تلاش کرده بود با دوستانش تماس بگیرد اما به دلیل قطع اینترنت و تماس و پیام تلفنی راهی برای برقراری تماس با کسی پیدا نکرد و نهایتا توسط رهگذری ناشناس به بیمارستان منتقل شد.
در بیمارستان نیز ماموران سرکوب مانع رسیدگی درمانی به مجروحان اعتراضات شده بودند به همین سبب محمدحسین صبح روز ۱۹دی به دلیل شدت جراحات وارده جان خود را از دست داد.
پیکر محمدحسین ساریخانی روز ۲۲دی۱۴۰۴ به خانواده او تحویل شد. نهادهای امنیتی خانواده را تحت فشار قرار دادند تا او را به عنوان «بسیجی و شهید حکومتی» معرفی و تشییع کنند یا مبلغ ۳۰۰میلیون تومان برای تحویل پیکر پرداخت کنند. خانواده این جوان ۱۸ساله این درخواست را نپذیرفتند و مبلغ را با کمک شماری از نزدیکان پرداخت کردند.
مراسم تشییع و خاکسپاری او در محاصره نیروهای امنیتی و تنها با حضور شمار اندکی از نزدیکانش انجام شد.
