He was shot dead by security forces on 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026), during the Iranian year 1404 (2025/26) nationwide uprising.

Farshid Moradi ⁩, 28, was a son of Alimardan, Bakhtiari, and a resident of Foladshahr. He was a welder and often went to Asaluyeh to work to make ends meet.

On January 8, during popular protests in Foladshahr, Farshid was directly targeted by Khamenei's sniper. The bullet hit him in the head from above the rooftop, and he died on the spot.

After his death, they did not return his body to his family for several days and demanded 800 million Tomans to return the body. When the family could not pay, they forced them to say that Farshid was a "Basij" in order to return his body.
