روز ۱۹ دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ کورش ملکی جان ۵۰ ساله در جریان اعتراضات مردمی در اراک توسط نیروهای حکومتی بازداشت شد. بنا بر گزارش ها وی با اتهام آتش زدن مسجد تحت شکنجه قرار گرفته است. گفته می شود او را با ویلچر در حالی که هر دو پایش بر اثر اصابت گلوله مجروح و دستش شکسته بود به مقابل مسجد خاتم الانبیای اراک منتقل کرده اند تا درباره این اتهام از او مصاحبه تلویزیونی بگیرند. بر اساس گزارش ها مسجد خاتم الانبیا از مراکزی بوده که در جریان اعتراضات نیروهای حکومتی از آن علیه معترضان استفاده می کردند و در واکنش به این موضوع مرکز بسیج مستقر در این مسجد هدف اعتراض مردم قرار گرفته است.

On 19 Dey 1404 (9 January 2026), Kourosh Malekijan, 50 years old, was arrested by government forces during popular protests in Arak.
According to reports, he has been subjected to torture on the charge of setting a mosque on fire. It is reported that he was taken in a wheelchair—while both of his legs were wounded by gunshot injuries and his arm was broken—to the Khatam al-Anbiya Mosque in Arak in order to record a televised interview in connection with this accusation.
Reports further indicate that the Khatam al-Anbiya Mosque was among the sites used by government forces against protesters during the demonstrations, and in response, the Basij center based in the mosque became a target of public protest.
