به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز یکشنبه ۲۵ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۴، مصطفی مهرآئین، متولد: ۱۳۵۳، اهل شهرستان دیر، ساکن تهران، اسناد دانشگاه تهران، جامعه شناس و منتقد حکومت جمهوری اسلامی، توسط نیروهای امنیتی، دستگیر شد.
براساس این گزارش، دستگیری مصطفی مهرآئین، پس از انتشار نامه ای اعتراضی وی به عل خامنه ای ـ رهبر جمهوری اسلامی، که در فضای مجازی منتشر کرده بود صورت گرفته است.
به نقل از یک فرد مطلع در گفتگو با گزارشگر حقوق بشر در ایران :”آقای مهرآئین، برای بازجویی و تشکیل پرونده قضایی به یکی از بندهای امنیتی در زندان اوین، منتقل شده است.”
تا لحظه تنظیم این خبر، از مصادیق حقوقی اتهامات و نام نهاد امنیتی دستگیر کننده مصطفی مهرآئین اطلاعی حاصل نشده است.
دستگیری و پرونده سازی قضایی بر علیه مصطفی مهرآئین پس از آن صورت گرفته که این استاد جامعه شناسی، در فروردین ماه ۱۴۰۴، به علت اعتراض به وضعیت جاری در ایران، به شعبه ۹ بازپرسی دادسرای فرهنگ و رسانه تهران، احضار شده بود.
