Muhammad Zaman Kamrava

According to reports, Mohammad Zaman Kamrava, a retired employee of the Social Security Organisation and a union activist for retirees residing in Ahvaz was tried in connection with retiree protest gatherings in February 2022 in Ahvaz by the Second Branch of the Revolutionary Court of the city. On 6 June 2025, he was sentenced, along with Morad Zohrabi, to two years of imprisonment each on charges of "assembly and collusion against national security" and "propaganda against the regime". This case was related to retiree gatherings in front of the Social Security Organisation in Ahvaz.

Subsequently, on 11 October 2025, Mohammad Zaman Kamrava was summoned to Branch 13 of the Revolutionary Court of Ahvaz to present his final defence in another case. Reports indicate that following this summons, he was arrested by the Revolutionary Guards' intelligence forces on the same day and transferred to an undisclosed location, leaving his family unaware of his whereabouts for some time.

On 14 October 2025, it was reported that he is approximately 70 years old and suffers from physical ailments, including heart and lung issues, and has a history of hospitalisation due to a brain tumour. This has raised concerns about his health condition while in detention.

Additionally, a report published on 26 June 2026 indicated that the Third Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Ahvaz sentenced him, along with several other union and cultural activists, to three years of suspended imprisonment and a two-year travel ban in another case.

Overall, Mohammad Zaman Kamrava is identified in human rights reports as an active union retiree whose activities, primarily within the framework of retiree protest gatherings, have led to several legal cases and both custodial and suspended sentences against him.
