Ebrahim Shahbakhsh, a resident of Zahedan, has been released from the city's prison after being detained for over a thousand days. His release was reported to have been secured through the posting of bail.
It has been suggested that his prolonged detention was due to a familial relationship with a prominent opposition figure. However, no information has been disclosed regarding the charges against him.
Ebrahim Shahbakhsh was arrested by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps intelligence forces in Zahedan on 21 March 2022 and subsequently transferred to Zahedan prison. He is the son of Khodamorad and resides in the village of Shurcheh, located in the Kourin district of Sarjangal County.
