Keyvan Rahimian, a Bahá'í citizen and university lecturer, has been arrested in Tehran and transferred to Evin Prison. Reports indicate that he informed others of his arrest during a brief phone call.
Rahimian, who holds a master's degree in psychology, had previously been arrested and sentenced to imprisonment on charges such as assembly and collusion against national security.
In 1984, Keyvan Rahimian's father was executed on charges of following the Bahá'í faith, and his house was confiscated by the Islamic Republic government.
It has also been reported that Kamran Rahimian and Faran Hesami, the wife of Keyvan Rahimian's brother, were arrested in 2004.
In 2012, Keyvan Rahimian was sent to prison a few months after the passing of his wife, while he was responsible for his ۱۲ ساله daughter and his brother's three-year-old child.
کیوان رحیمیان، شهروند بهایی و مدرس دانشگاه بهاییان، در تهران بازداشت و به زندان اوین منتقل شد. گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که وی در تماسی کوتاه از بازداشت خود خبر داده است.
رحیمیان که دارای مدرک کارشناسی ارشد روانشناسی است، پیش از این نیز به اتهاماتی نظیر اجتماع و تبانی ضد امنیت ملی بازداشت و به حبس محکوم شده بود.
پدر کیوان رحیمیان در سال ۱۳۶۳ به اتهام پیروی از دین بهائیت اعدام شد و خانه اش توسط دولت جمهوری اسلامی مصادره گردید.
همچنین گزارش شده است که کامران رحیمیان و فاران حسامی، همسر برادر کیوان رحیمیان، در سال ۱۳۸۳ دستگیر شدند.
در سال ۱۳۹۱، کیوان رحیمیان چند ماه پس از درگذشت همسرش، در حالی که سرپرستی دختر ۱۲ ساله اش و فرزند سه ساله برادرش را بر عهده داشت، به زندان فرستاده شد.
