Reports indicate that Maziar Samimi, a resident of Rasht originally from Shaft, was killed in Rasht by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran. It is reported that he was shot inside a vehicle in the Razi Square area of Rasht, with a bullet striking his forehead.
Additionally, it has been reported that Maziar Samimi's body was buried in the village of Osmandan on 11 January 2026, with a heavy presence of intelligence forces during the late hours of the night.
