Sajjad Iman Nezhad

Sajjad Iman Nejad, a 34yearold from Ardabil, was arrested in Tehran on October 8, 2022. After his arrest, he spent some time in wards 241 and then in ward 6 of Evin Prison, and he is currently imprisoned in Greater Tehran Prison. Sajjad Iman Nejad holds a bachelor's degree in architecture.

During his arrest, he was severely beaten by the officers. One of his cellmates wrote about Sajjad, stating that he has been accused of "moharebeh" waging war against God for defending himself and injuring several officers. His cellmate wrote: "He chanted a few slogans and ran away, but on one of the streets, seven officers, including plainclothes and special unit forces, caught him and beat him to the brink of death." Sajjad was forced to use a small knife from his keychain to defend himself and avoid being killed under the officers' beatings, inflicting a few superficial wounds on the officers.

He then tried to escape, but due to the severity of the beatings and his injuries, he was unsuccessful and was eventually captured. After his arrest, he was subjected to torture and abuse with batons, stun guns, and pepper spray. Some of his cellmates in ward 241 narrated that "when he entered the ward, we couldn't look at his face." It is said that Sajjad Iman Nejad's case has 15 private plaintiffs, although he only caused minor injuries to seven people. Recently, he was tried in Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court on charges of "moharebeh and corruption on earth."

This is while he had previously been charged by Branch 7 of the Evin Prosecutor's Office with "assembly and collusion," "disturbing public order," and "show of force with a cold weapon."
