Over four decades have passed since the execution of Hossein Rahmipour, a dentist and political prisoner, yet his family remains unaware of his burial site and the fate of his daughter, Golroo.
Hossein was arrested in 1983 along with his pregnant wife and transferred to Evin Prison. He was executed in 1984, and his body was never returned to his family. Golroo was born in Evin Prison and was separated from her mother shortly after birth. The family was informed that the child had passed away, but her body was also never returned.
Raheleh Rahmipour, Hossein's sister and Golroo's aunt, has sought to uncover the truth. She was arrested at her home in September 2017 and taken to Evin Prison. Years later, on 18 November 2023, she was again detained after visiting the Evin Prosecutor's Office and transferred to prison to serve her sentence.
Raheleh endured her imprisonment while suffering from serious health issues, including a brain tumour, heart problems, high blood pressure, and other physical ailments. Despite requiring specialised care and treatment, her medical treatment in prison faced difficulties and delays. In August 2024, after experiencing worsening headaches, Raheleh was transferred from Evin Prison to a hospital. Medical examinations revealed the growth of the brain tumour and the presence of a new mass. Her heart problems also worsened during her imprisonment.
Following an attack on Evin Prison in 2025, Raheleh, along with several other female prisoners, was transferred to Qarchak Varamin Prison. Her health condition remained concerning in Qarchak as well. Human rights reports warned of her urgent need for specialised treatment.
Raheleh Rahmipour was temporarily released on medical leave but was returned to Qarchak Prison in September of the same year, with her serious illnesses persisting. Finally, in October 2025, after more than two years of imprisonment, Raheleh was granted conditional release and freed from prison.
The Rahmipour family case continues to raise two fundamental questions for the public: Where was Hossein Rahmipour buried? And what happened to his daughter, Golroo?
The Global Network for the Freedom of Political and Conscientious Prisoners honours the memory of Hossein Rahmipour and acknowledges Raheleh Rahmipour's resilience, emphasising that seeking justice is not a crime and no one should be imprisoned or denied access to medical care for demanding truth and justice. The network also calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all political and conscientious prisoners and the immediate cessation and abolition of executions in Iran.
بیش از چهار دهه از اعدام حسین راحمی پور، دندان پزشک و زندانی سیاسی، گذشته است؛ اما هنوز خانواده او از محل دفن حسین و سرنوشت دخترش، گلرو، بی خبرند.
حسین در سال ۱۳۶۲ همراه همسر باردارش بازداشت و به زندان اوین منتقل شد. او در سال ۱۳۶۳ اعدام شد و پیکرش هرگز به خانواده تحویل داده نشد. گلرو نیز در زندان اوین متولد شد و مدت کوتاهی پس از تولد از مادرش جدا شد. به خانواده گفته شد که کودک جان باخته است، اما پیکر او نیز هرگز تحویل داده نشد.
راحله راحمی پور، خواهر حسین و عمه گلرو، برای کشف حقیقت تلاش کرده است. وی در شهریور ۱۳۹۶ در منزلش بازداشت و به زندان اوین منتقل شد و سال ها بعد، در ۲۷ آبان ۱۴۰۲، بار دیگر پس از مراجعه به دادسرای اوین بازداشت و برای اجرای حکم به زندان منتقل شد.
راحله دوران حبس خود را در شرایطی سپری کرد که از بیماری های جدی رنج می برد. او به تومور مغزی، مشکلات قلبی، فشار خون بالا و دیگر مشکلات جسمانی مبتلا بود. با وجود نیاز به مراقبت و درمان تخصصی، روند درمان در زندان با دشواری و تأخیر همراه بود. در مرداد ۱۴۰۳، پس از تشدید سردردها، راحله از زندان اوین به بیمارستان منتقل شد. بررسی های پزشکی از رشد تومور مغزی و وجود توده ای جدید خبر داد. مشکلات قلبی او نیز در دوران حبس تشدید شد.
پس از حمله به زندان اوین در سال ۱۴۰۴، راحله همراه شماری از زنان زندانی به زندان قرچک ورامین منتقل شد. در قرچک نیز وضعیت جسمانی راحله همچنان نگران کننده بود. گزارش های حقوق بشری نسبت به نیاز فوری وی به درمان تخصصی هشدار دادند.
راحله راحمی پور پس از مدتی با مرخصی استعلاجی از زندان خارج شد، اما در شهریور همان سال بار دیگر به زندان قرچک بازگردانده شد؛ در حالی که بیماری های جدی او همچنان ادامه داشت. سرانجام در مهر ۱۴۰۴، پس از بیش از دو سال تحمل حبس، با آزادی مشروط راحله موافقت شد و وی از زندان آزاد شد.
پرونده خانواده راحمی پور همچنان دو پرسش اساسی را پیش روی افکار عمومی قرار می دهد: حسین راحمی پور کجا به خاک سپرده شد؟ و بر سر گلرو فرزند وی چه آمد؟
شبکه جهانی برای آزادی زندانیان سیاسی و عقیدتی ضمن گرامی داشت یاد حسین راحمی پور و ارج نهادن به ایستادگی راحله راحمی پور، تأکید می کند که دادخواهی جرم نیست و هیچ انسانی نباید به دلیل مطالبه حقیقت و عدالت، زندانی شود یا از حق دسترسی به درمان محروم بماند. همچنین شبکه خواهان آزادی فوری و بی قید و شرط تمامی زندانیان سیاسی و عقیدتی و توقف و لغو فوری اعدام ها در ایران می باشد.
