Reports from the prison indicated that an individual was taken to an open cell in the Joint Committee and subjected to such severe torture that, in the middle of the night, amidst pain and cries, they passed away under the drizzle.
According to accounts from former prisoners, it was noted that in the Joint Committee, one of the detainees was in a cell opposite a comrade. This comrade recounted that Sepasi was severely tortured, and many regime officials visited his cell, sometimes secretly monitoring him. On one occasion, after being severely tortured and returned to his cell by several guards, he cried out, prompting guards, a doctor, and many others to rush to his cell. However, he had already passed away.
A comrade of Mohammad Sabouri-Gargari, who was martyred in 1988, shared that Alireza Sepasi-Ashtiani was in a cell near his own. Due to the severe torture inflicted upon him, Sepasi's limbs were rendered immobile, preventing him from moving them. Despite this, he crawled to and from interrogations, maintaining a strong and high spirit. He frequently sang loudly and chanted slogans against the Islamic Republic in his cell. Even though guards would often enter his cell in groups to beat him, he continued his chants, inspiring a spirit of resistance and defiance in other cells. Sepasi-Ashtiani consistently interacted with the guards from a position of defiance. Unable to unbutton his trousers to use the toilet, he would loudly call for a guard, and upon their arrival, he would demand, in a demeaning tone, for them to lower and then raise his trousers. During his time there, Sepasi disrupted the atmosphere in Ward 209, continually chanting slogans and singing.
