Homayoun Shaban Khareh was arrested at his home by security forces on 14 May 2026 in connection with military conflicts and was transferred to the Karaj Central Detention Centre. During the arrest, officers searched his residence for three hours and confiscated several personal items, including his laptop.
Following his arrest, he was held in solitary confinement in Hall 12 of the Karaj Central Detention Centre for 97 days. After the completion of the interrogation process, he was transferred to the general ward of the prison for 12 days. Subsequently, from 30 August to 30 September, he was returned to solitary confinement, during which he went on a hunger strike. This prisoner, sentenced to death, had previously attempted suicide while in solitary confinement.
Homayoun Shaban Khareh was sentenced to death by the Second Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Karaj, presided over by Judge Mehdi Sabzevar Nejad. According to a source close to the family, the death sentence was issued on charges of waging war against God and espionage and was communicated to him on Saturday, 17 October 2026.
Homayoun Shaban Khareh, son of Mohammad Reza, was born on 27 February 2004. He is an animal rights activist and artist. Prior to his arrest, he lived with his mother.
همایون شبانکاره، در تاریخ ۲۴ اردیبهشت ۱۴۰۵ در ارتباط با درگیری های نظامی، توسط نیروهای امنیتی در منزلش بازداشت و به ندامتگاه مرکزی کرج منتقل شد. ماموران در جریان بازداشت این شهروند به مدت سه ساعت محل سکونت وی را تفتیش و شماری از وسایل شخصی از جمله لپ تاپ وی را ضبط کردند.
وی پس از بازداشت به مدت ۹۷ روز در سلول انفرادی سالن ۱۲ ندامتگاه مرکزی کرج محبوس بود و با پایان مراحل بازپرسی، به مدت ۱۲ روز به بند عمومی این زندان انتقال یافت. وی سپس از تاریخ ۸ شهریور تا ۸ مهرماه مجددا به سلول انفرادی منتقل و در طی مدت مذکور دست به اعتصاب زده بود. این زندانی محکوم به اعدام، در دوران نگهداری خود در سلول انفرادی سابقه اقدام به خودکشی داشته است.
آقای شبانکاره توسط شعبه دوم دادگاه انقلاب شهرستان کرج به ریاست قاضی مهدی سبزوارنژاد (سبزواری) به مجازات اعدام محکوم شده است.
به گفته یک منبع مطلع نزدیک به خانواده حکم اعدام همایون شبانکاره از بابت اتهامات محاربه و جاسوسی صادر و روز شنبه ۲۵ مهرماه ۱۴۰۵ به وی ابلاغ شده است.
همایون شبانکاره، فرزند محمدرضا، متولد ۸ اسفند ۱۳۸۲، فعال حقوق حیوانات و هنرمند است. وی پیش از بازداشت به همراه مادر خود زندگی می کرده است.
