The detention order for Yaser Edwayi, a former political prisoner and Kurdish activist from the village of "Selin" in Horaman, who was previously arrested on November 13, 2025, after being summoned to the news headquarters of the Intelligence Office in Sarvabad, has been extended for another month. This political activist, held in the detention center of the Marivan Intelligence Office, has been denied access to a lawyer and family visits since his arrest. He has only had a few short phone calls with his family, and recently, his family was informed that his detention order has been extended for another month. Yaser Edwayi was previously arrested in June 2020 by the Ministry of Intelligence forces and released on bail after 45 days. In the fall of the same year, he was sentenced to five years in prison on charges of "acting against national security" through collaboration with the Kurdistan Free Life Party (PJAK), and this sentence was reduced to three years in prison in the appeal court. In February 2021, Yaser Edwayi was transferred to Marivan Prison to serve his sentence and was released after completing his term.
