The body of a citizen was buried in the cemetery of Shushtar on 13 January 2026.
Mehdi Mahmedi Kartelai, a student, passed away on 9 January 2026 at approximately 10 p.m. in the Saheb Road neighbourhood of Shushtar. He was struck by a sniper's bullet to the heart while returning home.
Reports indicate that he was on his way back from work when he encountered crowded streets. As he attempted to pass through the area, he was targeted by a direct sniper shot to the heart and passed away.
He worked in a motorcycle repair shop in the Saheb Road neighbourhood and was known in this profession.

مهدی مهمدی کرتلایی، دانش آموز، در تاریخ 19 دی ماه حدود ساعت 10 شب در محله جاده صاحب شوشتر هنگام بازگشت به خانه با اصابت گلوله تک تیرانداز به قلبش جان باخت.
گزارش شده است که او در راه برگشت از سر کار به خانه بود که با شلوغی خیابان ها مواجه شد و در حالی که قصد عبور از محل را داشت، با شلیک مستقیم تک تیرانداز به قلبش هدف قرار گرفت و جان باخت.
او در همان محله جاده صاحب در مغازه تعمیر موتورسیکلت کار می کرد و در این حرفه شناخته شده بود.
