According to human rights sources, on 20 July 2026, intelligence forces conducted a raid on homes in the Mandali neighbourhood of Ahvaz, resulting in the arrest of several Sunni Arab residents.
During the raid, security forces searched the homes and confiscated personal belongings before transferring the detainees to an undisclosed location.
The names of some of the detainees include Saeed Obaidavi, Hassan Chandani, Jafar Shamoosi, and Esmail Obaidavi. All of these individuals are residents of the Mandali neighbourhood in Ahvaz. No official explanation has been released regarding the reason for the arrests or the charges against them.
The Mandali neighbourhood is an underprivileged area in Ahvaz, where residents face challenges such as poverty, lack of urban services, deteriorating infrastructure, and interruptions in water and electricity supply.
به گزارش منابع حقوق بشری، بامداد 29 تیرماه 1405 نیروهای اطلاعاتی با یورش به منازل، تعدادی از شهروندان عرب سنی مذهب ساکن کوی مندلی اهواز را بازداشت کردند.
در جریان این یورش، نیروهای امنیتی پس از بازرسی منازل و ضبط وسایل شخصی، بازداشت شدگان را به مکان نامعلومی منتقل کردند.
اسامی تعدادی از بازداشت شدگان عبارتند از: سعید عبیداوی، حسن چندانی، جعفر شموسی و اسماعیل عبیداوی. همه این افراد از ساکنان کوی مندلی اهواز هستند. تاکنون هیچ توضیح رسمی درباره علت بازداشت یا اتهامات منتسب به آنان منتشر نشده است.
کوی مندلی از مناطق محروم و کم برخوردار اهواز است که ساکنان آن با مشکلاتی مانند فقر، کمبود خدمات شهری، فرسودگی زیرساخت ها و قطعی آب و برق مواجه هستند.
