According to human rights sources, on the morning of 20 July 2026, intelligence forces conducted a raid on the homes of several Sunni Arab citizens residing in the Mandali neighbourhood of Ahvaz, resulting in their arrest. During the early morning operation, security forces searched the homes, seized personal belongings, and transferred the detainees to an undisclosed location.
The names of some of the detainees have been reported as Saeed Obeidavi, Hassan Chandani, Jafar Shamoosi, and Esmail Obeidavi. All of these individuals are residents of the Mandali neighbourhood in Ahvaz. No official explanation regarding the reason for the arrests or the charges against them has been released so far.
The Mandali neighbourhood is a disadvantaged area in Ahvaz, where residents face challenges such as poverty, lack of urban services, deteriorating infrastructure, and interruptions in water and electricity supply.
به گزارش منابع حقوق بشری، بامداد 29 تیرماه 1405 نیروهای اطلاعاتی با یورش به منازل تعدادی از شهروندان عرب سنی مذهب ساکن کوی مندلی اهواز را بازداشت کردند. در این عملیات که در ساعات اولیه صبح انجام شد، نیروهای امنیتی پس از بازرسی منازل و ضبط وسایل شخصی، بازداشت شدگان را به مکان نامعلومی منتقل کردند.
اسامی شماری از بازداشت شدگان شامل سعید عبیداوی، حسن چندانی، جعفر شموسی و اسماعیل عبیداوی گزارش شده است. همه این افراد از ساکنان کوی مندلی اهواز هستند. تاکنون هیچ توضیح رسمی درباره علت بازداشت یا اتهامات منتسب به آنان منتشر نشده است.
کوی مندلی از مناطق محروم و کم برخوردار اهواز است که ساکنان آن با چالش هایی مانند فقر، کمبود خدمات شهری، فرسودگی زیرساخت ها و قطعی آب و برق مواجه هستند.
