Farhad Tahazadeh, a Kurdish political prisoner from Oshnavieh in West Azerbaijan Province, was arrested along with his brother Farzad Tahazadeh during the nationwide protests in 2022 in Oshnavieh. Both were initially transferred to Urmia Central Prison and were involved in a group case with several others. The main charges included waging war against God, corruption on earth, and actions against national security.
In November 2022, the threat of execution for the two brothers was significant. However, due to international and media pressure, the execution was not carried out. Ultimately, the Revolutionary Court of Urmia acquitted them of the charges of waging war against God and corruption on earth, sentencing both to five years in prison.
As of the latest credible reports in September 2024, Farhad Tahazadeh remained in Urmia Central Prison, with no news of his release or any change in his sentence. The conditions for political prisoners in Urmia Prison are often accompanied by severe restrictions and security pressures.
فرهاد طه زاده، زندانی سیاسی کرد اهل اشنویه در استان آذربایجان غربی است. او به همراه برادرش فرزاد طه زاده در جریان اعتراضات سراسری 1401 در اشنویه بازداشت شد. هر دو ابتدا به زندان مرکزی ارومیه منتقل شدند و در یک پرونده گروهی با چند نفر دیگر قرار گرفتند. اتهامات اصلی شامل محاربه و افساد فی الارض و اقدام علیه امنیت ملی بود.
در آذر 1401، خطر اجرای حکم اعدام برای این دو برادر بسیار جدی بود. با فشارهای بین المللی و رسانه ای، حکم اعدام اجرا نشد. در نهایت، دادگاه انقلاب ارومیه آنها را از اتهام محاربه و افساد فی الارض تبرئه کرد و هر دو به 5 سال زندان محکوم شدند.
تا آخرین گزارش های معتبر در شهریور 1403، فرهاد طه زاده در زندان مرکزی ارومیه بوده و هیچ خبری از آزادی یا تغییر حکم او منتشر نشده است. شرایط زندان ارومیه برای زندانیان سیاسی اغلب با محدودیت های شدید و فشارهای امنیتی همراه است.
