Gholamreza was born into a working-class family in Borujerd. Under the name Davood, he was politically active in the labor section of the Peykar organization. In 1983, he was working as an electrical technician in a factory when he and his spouse were arrested. Twenty-two months later, on his birthday, he was executed in Evin Prison.
