On December 6, 2023, Seyed Javad Seyedi, a political prisoner held in Evin Prison, was granted leave after posting bail. This political prisoner is serving a five-year prison sentence. He had previously been sentenced to imprisonment for his peaceful activities and was conditionally released after serving part of his sentence.
According to a person close to this political prisoner, in an interview with the Human Rights reporter in Iran: "Seyed Javad Seyedi has been granted a three-day leave, and it will be extended at the discretion of the prosecutor, but he has definitely been granted leave for three days."
It is worth mentioning that Seyed Javad Seyedi was arrested on July 3, 2022, during nationwide protests by retirees in Tehran by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence. He was transferred to Ward 209 of that security agency and, after completing interrogation and investigation procedures, was moved to Ward 4 of Evin Prison.
With the beginning of the trial process, Seyed Javad Seyedi was tried on October 17, 2022, by Branch 29 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Seyed Ali Mazloom, on charges of propaganda against the regime, insulting the leadership, and assembly and collusion with the intent to commit a crime against internal/external security through collaboration with elements of discord. After completing the trial process and applying Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code for the aggregation of offenses, he was sentenced to five years of enforceable imprisonment and is currently serving his sentence in Evin Prison.
In his first case, Javad Seyedi was also tried by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Mohammad Moghiseh, the then judge of the mentioned branch. He was sentenced to eight months of enforceable imprisonment for propaganda activities against the regime and to three years and nine months of imprisonment for assembly and collusion with the intent to disrupt national security. After announcing submission to the verdict and reducing one year from the enforceable imprisonment and applying Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the most severe punishment, i.e., three years and nine months of enforceable imprisonment for Seyed Javad Seyedi, was necessary to execute, of which one year was reduced upon submission to the verdict, and he was sentenced to two years, nine months, and 15 days of enforceable imprisonment.
Seyed Javad Seyedi was arrested in January 2020 to serve his sentence and was conditionally released in August 2021 after serving part of his total sentence of two years, nine months, and 15 days.
به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز چهارشنبه ۱۵ آذر ماه ۱۴۰۲، سیدجواد سیدی، زندانی سیاسی محبوس در زندان اوین، پس از تودیع وثیقه به مرخصی اعزام شد. این زندانی سیاسی در حال سپری کردن دوران حبس تعزیری ۵ ساله خود است. وی پیشتر هم به علت فعالیتهای مسالمت آمیز خود به تحمل حبس محکوم و پس از سپری کردن بخشی از حبس خود بطور مشروط آزاد شده بود.
به نقل از یک فرد نزدیک به این زندانی سیاسی در گفتگو با گزارشگر حقوق بشر در ایران:”مرخصی سید جواد سیدی برای مدت ۳ روز به وی اعطا شده و در صورت صلاحدید دادستان، تمدی خواهد شد اما بطور قطع تا ۳ روز به مرخصی آمده است.”
لازم به اشاره است، سید جواد سیدی، در تاریخ ۱۲ تیر ماه ۱۴۰۱، در جریان برگزاری اعتراضات سراسری بازنشستگان در تهران، توسط ماموران وزارت اطلاعات، بازداشت و به بند ۲۰۹ آن ارگان امنیتی منتقل و پس از اتمام مراحل بازجویی ها و بازپرسی به اندرزگاه ۴ زندان اوین منتقل شد.
با آغاز مراحل دادرسی، سید جواد سیدی، در تاریخ ۲۵ مهرماه ۱۴۰۱، توسط شعبه ۲۹ دادگاه انقلاب تهران به ریاست قاضی سیدعلی مظلوم از بابت اتهامات تبلیغ علیه نظام ، توهین به رهبری و اجتماع و تبانی به قصد ارتکاب جرم بر ضد امنیت داخلی/خارجی – از طریق همکاری با عوامل نفاق محاکمه و پس از اتمام مراحل دادرسی و اعمال ماده ۱۳۴ مجازات اسلامی تجمیع جرائم به تحمل ۵ سال حبس تعزیری لازم به اجرا محکوم و در حال حاضر در زندان اوین، دوران محکومیت خود را سپری می کند.
جواد سیدی، در پرونده اول خود هم توسط شعبه ۲۸ دادگاه انقلاب تهران به ریاست قاضی محمد مقیسه – قاضی وقت شعبه مذکور، محاکمه و از بابت اتهامات فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام به تحمل ۸ ماه حبس تعزیری و به اتهام اجتماع و تبانی به قصد برهم زدن امنیت کشور هم به تحمل ۳ سال و ۹ ماه حبس محکوم شد. پس از اعلام تسلیم به رای و کاهش ۱ سال از حبس تعزیری لازم به اجرا و اعمال ماده ۱۳۴ مجازات اسلامی، تحمل اشد مجازات یعنی ۳ سال و ۹ ماه حبس تعزیری برای سید جواد سیدی لازم به اجرا شد که ۱ سال آن با اعلام تسلیم به رای کسر و او به تحمل ۲ سال و ۹ ماه و ۱۵ روز حبس لازم به اجرا محکوم شد.
سید جواد سیدی، در دی ماه ۱۳۹۸، برای تحمل حبس خود بازداشت و پس از تحمل بخشی از مجموع حبس تعزیری ۲ سال و ۹ ماه و ۱۵ روزه خود در مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۰، بطور مشروط آزاد شده بود.
