Amin Karki, a day labourer from Andimeshk residing in Dezful, was detained after participating in the protests of December 2017. He passed away under suspicious circumstances after being temporarily released. In the early hours of 3 January 2018, officers from Police Station 18 in Hamzeh Town, Dezful, along with Basij forces and plainclothes agents, arrested him at his father's home without a warrant and with the use of force.
While in custody, he was reportedly subjected to severe torture, including being punched, kicked, and beaten with cables. He faced charges of "leading neighbourhood riots" and "tearing pictures of the leaders of the Islamic Republic." Due to his family's financial constraints, he was denied legal representation and visitation rights.
He was eventually released temporarily on 17 March 2018 after posting a salary slip as bail. On 29 March 2018, 13 days after his release, he disappeared from his home during a two-hour absence of his father. He had reportedly been too afraid of the authorities to leave the house.
The following afternoon, his body was discovered in an unfinished sports stadium near his home. His family observed multiple bruises, scratches, and a deep gash on the left side of his head. Later, eyewitnesses informed the family that on the afternoon of 29 March, forces from Police Station 18 and the local Basij had once again raided the house and taken Amin away with force.
An initial report suggested drug use due to the presence of a syringe at the scene. However, a subsequent forensic report from the province in September 2018 officially ruled out the presence of any drugs in his body and described the cause of death as "unknown." Despite this, the judge declared the cause of death as an overdose, disregarding the scientific report.
Officials from the police station and Basij provided contradictory and false statements regarding the discovery of the body, including altering the identity of the person who first found it. Officers ignored the investigator's orders to examine phone records and conduct discreet inquiries, and the investigator did not carry out any local investigations.
In April 2019, the Dezful judiciary officially closed the murder case without addressing ambiguities, considering the head injuries, or summoning suspects from the police station and Basij. The family believes that the involvement and affiliations of the suspects with the Revolutionary Guards and Basij prevented justice from being served.
امین کرکی کارگر روزمزد اهل اندیمشک و ساکن دزفول بود که پس از شرکت در اعتراضات دی ماه ۱۳۹۶ دستگیر شد و مدتی بعد پس از آزادی موقت، در شرایطی مشکوک جان باخت.
بامداد ۱۳ دی ۱۳۹۶، مأموران کلانتری ۱۸ شهرک حمزه دزفول به همراه نیروهای بسیج و لباس شخصی، بدون حکم ورود و با ضرب وجرح، او را در منزل پدری اش بازداشت کردند.
او در کلانتری به شدت با مشت، لگد و کابل شکنجه شد. اتهامات وی «سرکردگی اغتشاشات محله» و «پاره کردن عکس رهبران جمهوری اسلامی» بود. او به دلیل عدم توانایی مالی خانواده از حق داشتن وکیل و حتی ملاقات محروم ماند.
وی نهایتاً در ۲۶ اسفند ۱۳۹۶ با تودیع فیش حقوقی به طور موقت آزاد شد.
در ۹ فروردین ۱۳۹۷ (۱۳ روز پس از آزادی)، در غیاب دو ساعته پدرش از خانه مفقود شد. این در حالی بود که او از ترس مأموران هرگز از خانه خارج نمی شد.
عصر روز بعد (۱۰ فروردین)، پیکر او در یک ورزشگاه نیمه کاره در نزدیکی خانه شان پیدا شد. خانواده بر روی بدنش آثار متعدد کبودی، خراشیدگی و یک شکاف عمیق در سمت چپ سرش مشاهده کردند.
بعدها شاهدان عینی به خانواده اطلاع دادند که بعدازظهر ۹ فروردین، نیروهای کلانتری ۱۸ و بسیج محلی بار دیگر به خانه هجوم آورده و امین را با ضرب وجرح با خود برده بودند.
گزارش اولیه با اشاره به وجود سرنگ در محل، فرضیه مصرف مواد را مطرح کرد، اما گزارش تکمیلی پزشکی قانونی استان در شهریور ۱۳۹۷، وجود هرگونه مواد مخدر در بدن وی را رسماً رد کرد و علت مرگ را «نامشخص» خواند. با این حال، قاضی پرونده بدون توجه به این گزارش علمی، علت فوت را اوردوز اعلام کرد.
مقامات کلانتری و بسیج درباره نحوه و ساعت کشف جسد اظهارات متناقض و کذبی ارائه دادند (مانند تغییر هویت فردی که اول بار جسد را دید). مأموران از دستور بازپرس برای بررسی تماس های تلفنی و تحقیق نامحسوس سرپیچی کردند و بازپرس نیز هیچ گونه تحقیق محلی انجام نداد.
دادگستری دزفول بدون رفع ابهامات، توجه به جراحات سر، یا احضار مظنونان کلانتری و بسیج، پرونده قتل او را در فروردین ۱۳۹۸ رسماً مختومه اعلام کرد. به باور خانواده، دخالت و وابستگی مظنونان به سپاه و بسیج مانع از اجرای عدالت شد.
