Ruhollah Karki has been sentenced to death. Previously, charges against this individual were filed for "dissemination and disclosure of confidential documents," "collaboration with the People's Mojahedin Organization," "espionage for Israel and exchange of military and security information," "insulting religious sanctities and officials," and "actions against national security." The case was referred to the Ahvaz Criminal Court Two.
Mr. Karki was transferred to Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz on 2 October. He had been arrested by security forces in Andimeshk on Tuesday, 4 August.
It is noteworthy that Ruhollah Karki is the brother of Amin Karki, who was detained during the nationwide protests in December 2017. Amin Karki passed away under ambiguous circumstances in April 2018 after being re-arrested.
روح الله کرکی به اعدام محکوم شده است. چندی پیش، کیفرخواست پرونده این شهروند از بابت اتهامات «انتشار و افشای اسناد محرمانه»، «همکاری با سازمان مجاهدین خلق»، «جاسوسی برای اسرائیل و تبادل اطلاعات نظامی و امنیتی»، «توهین به مقدسات و مقامات» و «اقدام علیه امنیت ملی» صادر و به دادگاه کیفری دو اهواز ارجاع شده بود.
آقای کرکی، در تاریخ ۱۰ مهرماه به زندان شیبان اهواز منتقل شد. وی روز سه شنبه ۱۴ مردادماه، توسط نیروهای امنیتی در اندیمشک بازداشت شده بود.
لازم به ذکر است، روح الله کرکی، برادر امین کرکی، از بازداشت شدگان اعتراضات سراسری دیماه ۹۶ است. امین کرکی در فروردین ۹۷ پس از بازداشت مجدد، در شرایطی پرابهام درگذشت.
