On the morning of Saturday, August 15, 2026, agents from the Bukan Intelligence Department, under the guise of "gas company employees," entered the Badsar family home through deception. After learning that Zakaria Badsar was not at home, the agents took his father, Esmail Badsar, hostage and informed the family that he would not be released until Zakaria turned himself in.
Following this action, later that afternoon, Zakaria Badsar presented himself to the Bukan Intelligence Department and was arrested. Esmail Badsar was released after his son's arrest.
