Milad Armoun

On 28 October 2022, during nationwide protests and following the death of a Basij member named Arman Ali Vardi in Ekbatan Town, at least 50 young residents of Ekbatan Town were arrested by security and law enforcement forces. Among these individuals, indictments were issued for 14 people. This case became known as the Ekbatan case.

Milad Armon, one of the defendants in this case, was arrested by security forces on 2 November 2022. After undergoing interrogation and being charged, he was transferred to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj and later moved to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj on 1 August 2023.

On 5 November 2024, the defendants in the case known as the "Ekbatan Town" case were each sentenced to death by Branch 13 of the Tehran Criminal Court. However, on 13 September 2025, the Supreme Court overturned the death sentences, and the case was referred back to Branch 13 of the Tehran Criminal Court for retrial. The retrial session for the charges against these individuals was held on 3 December of the same year.

The verdict for the defendants in the "Ekbatan Town" case was issued by Branch 13 of the Tehran Province Criminal Court on 4 February 2026 and was communicated to them on 19 May 2026. According to the issued verdict, Milad Armon, Alireza Kafaie, and Amir Mohammad Khosh Eghbal were each sentenced to pay an equal share of the full blood money for a human life and to serve five years in prison for their involvement in intentional murder.

On 16 May 2026, based on the ruling of Branch 15 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Abolqasem Salavati, Milad Armon was sentenced to death on charges of "enmity against God." This sentence was communicated to him verbally without the presence or knowledge of his lawyers.
