On 1 September 2021, Abbas Vahidiyan Shahroudi was arrested by security forces in Rezvanshahr and transferred to an undisclosed location. After seventy days of detention, on 1 November 2021, Branch 4 of the Mashhad Revolutionary Court sentenced him to ten years in prison. He is being held in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad and was transferred to a hospital on 1 February 2022 due to dangerous health conditions but was returned to prison. It was reported that the hospital transfer was due to symptoms of poisoning, shortness of breath, and low heart rate.
On 4 June 2023, it was reported that Abbas Vahidiyan Shahroudi, a civil activist imprisoned in Vakilabad Prison, Mashhad, was denied medical services and hospital transfer despite his poor physical condition and need for specialised medical care.
On 28 August 2023, it was reported that Abbas Vahidiyan, a civil activist and political prisoner held in Vakilabad Prison, Mashhad, was denied the right to treatment and transfer to a specialised medical centre due to increased infection in his body and its spread to the soles of his feet. He is serving part of a 21-year sentence due to two legal cases.
It has been reported that Abbas Vahidiyan is facing a severe decline in his immune system due to inadequate nutrition, lack of sunlight, and the absence of a proper ventilation system. The infection in his feet has spread to his ankles, and he is in a critical physical condition. Due to opposition from the prosecutor and the security officer handling his case, he is denied the right to be transferred to a specialised medical centre outside the prison. The quality of medical services provided in the prison is inadequate, and he needs to be transferred outside the prison for treatment.
The denial of Abbas Vahidiyan Shahroudi's right to be transferred to a specialised medical centre outside the prison comes despite not being granted leave over the past two years and suffering from fluctuating blood pressure. Even medical leave for transfer to a specialised centre is not granted to him.
در تاریخ ۱۰ شهریور ۱۴۰۰، عباس واحدیان شاهرودی در رضوانشهر توسط نیروهای امنیتی دستگیر و به مکانی نامعلوم منتقل شد. پس از هفتاد روز حبس، در تاریخ ۱۰ آبان ۱۴۰۰، شعبه ۴ دادگاه انقلاب مشهد حکم ۱۰ سال زندان برای او صادر کرد. این زندانی در زندان وکیل آباد مشهد نگهداری می شود و در تاریخ ۱۲ بهمن ۱۴۰۰با شرایط خطرناک سلامتی به بیمارستان منتقل شد، اما به زندان بازگردانده شد. گزارش شده که انتقال به بیمارستان به دلیل علائم مسمومیت، تنگی نفس و پایین بودن ضربان قلب بوده است.
در تاریخ ۱۴ خرداد ۱۴۰۲، گزارش شد که عباس واحدیان شاهرودی، کنشگر مدنی محبوس در زندان وکیل آباد مشهد، با وجود حال نامساعد جسمی و نیاز به رسیدگی های تخصصی درمانی، از خدمات پزشکی و اعزام به بیمارستان محروم مانده است.
در تاریخ ۶ شهریور ۱۴۰۲، گزارش شد که عباس واحدیان، فعال مدنی و زندانی سیاسی محبوس در زندان وکیل آباد مشهد، به دلیل افزایش میزان عفونت در بدن و گسترش آن در کف پاهایش، از حق درمان و اعزام به مرکز درمانی متخصص محروم است. او در حال تحمل بخشی از حبس تعزیری ۲۱ سال خود به دلیل دو پرونده قضایی است.
گزارش شده که عباس واحدیان به دلیل تغذیه نامناسب، کمبود نور آفتاب و عدم وجود سیستم تهویه مناسب، با افت شدید سیستم ایمنی بدن مواجه شده و عفونت کف پاهایش به مچ پا منتقل شده است. او در وضعیت وخیم جسمانی قرار دارد و به دلیل مخالفت دادستان و ضابط امنیتی پرونده اش، از حق اعزام به مرکز درمانی متخصص خارج از زندان محروم است. کیفیت خدمات درمانی ارائه شده در زندان مناسب نیست و او باید برای انجام مراحل درمانی به خارج از زندان اعزام شود.
محرومیت عباس واحدیان شاهرودی از حق اعزام به مرکز درمانی تخصصی خارج از زندان در حالی است که او طی دو سال اخیر به مرخصی اعزام نشده و به بیماری نوسان فشار خون نیز مبتلا است. حتی برای اعزام به مرکز درمانی متخصص، مرخصی درمانی هم به او اعطا نمی شود.
