On 20 July 2023, it was reported that Mohammad Obeid Haghighian, a retired judiciary employee residing in the city of Sanandaj, was sentenced by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Sanandaj to three months of imprisonment, which could be converted to a fine of 40 million rials.
According to the verdict, Mohammad Obeid Haghighian was tried on charges of propaganda activities against the regime and was sentenced to pay a fine of 40 million rials instead of serving three months of imprisonment.
It was stated that Mohammad Obeid Haghighian was arrested by security forces in Sanandaj on 5 February 2023. After being transferred to the detention centre of the Intelligence Department and undergoing interrogation, he was moved to the quarantine ward of Sanandaj Central Prison. He was released on 25 February 2023 after posting bail of 5 billion rials.
در تاریخ 29 تیر ماه 1402، گزارش شده است که محمدعبید حقیقیان، بازنشسته دادگستری و ساکن شهر سنندج، پس از محاکمه در شعبه اول دادگاه انقلاب سنندج به تحمل 3 ماه حبس تعزیری که قابل تبدیل به پرداخت 40 میلیون ریال جزای نقدی است، محکوم شد.
براساس این حکم، محمدعبید حقیقیان به اتهام فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام محاکمه و به پرداخت 40 میلیون ریال جزای نقدی به جای تحمل 3 ماه حبس تعزیری محکوم شده است.
گفته شده است که محمدعبید حقیقیان در تاریخ 16 بهمن ماه 1401 توسط نیروهای امنیتی در شهر سنندج بازداشت و پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه اداره اطلاعات و طی مراحل بازجویی، به بند قرنطینه زندان مرکزی سنندج منتقل شد و در تاریخ 6 اسفند ماه 1401 با تودیع قرار وثیقه ای به مبلغ 500 میلیون تومان آزاد شد.
