On Wednesday, August 23, 2023, Jalveh Javaheri, a women's rights activist residing in Gilan Province, has been deprived of her basic rights as a detainee, including access to a lawyer and informing her family of the legal charges against her, despite seven days passing since her arrest. She is currently undergoing interrogation at the detention center of the Intelligence Office in Rasht. Due to the lack of proper response from the prosecutor's office in Rasht to the family of this women's rights activist, there is no information available about her exact whereabouts, which has doubled the concern of her family, including her mother.
Gohar Bayat, the mother of Jalveh Javaheri, stated in an interview with the Shargh Network about the latest status of her daughter: "Jalveh Javaheri was arrested last Wednesday along with 11 others. She contacted us briefly on Thursday, saying she was fine and had been detained but did not disclose her location. Since then, we have had no news of her."
Jalveh's mother added: "We have visited the prosecutor's office several times and even spoken with judicial authorities, but they keep saying they are investigating. We do not know why Jalveh was arrested, what her charges are, or which institution is holding her. Jalveh has not contacted us since Thursday, and I have no information about my daughter's condition."
In another part of her statement, she explained: "Both we and Jalveh are left in limbo. Jalveh worked for the people, was a cultural and social activist, and worked in women's rights. Whenever we tell the authorities she has done nothing wrong, they say we don't know! What don't we know? At the very least, they should tell us where she is, what her charges are, and why she was arrested, but we have no news of her."
It is worth mentioning that on July 16, 2023, Jalveh Javaheri was arrested by officers from the Gilan Province Intelligence Office. After searching her home and confiscating some personal belongings such as her mobile phone and laptop, she was transferred to the detention center of that security institution for case formation and investigations, but her whereabouts are unknown.
Previously, on December 26, 2019, Jalveh Javaheri, along with several other citizens, was arrested during the fortieth-day memorial ceremony for Navid Behboudi, one of the victims of the November 2019 protests, following a raid by security forces on the ceremony. After being transferred to the Rasht police detention center and completing initial procedures for further investigations, she was moved to the detention center of the Intelligence Office in Rasht, the capital of Gilan Province. On January 1, 2020, after undergoing interrogations and being charged, she was transferred to Lakan Prison (Central) in Rasht and was released on bail on January 14, 2020.
According to the Shargh Network, on Sunday, September 17, 2023, Jalveh Javaheri, a women's rights activist, along with Matin Yazdani, a civil activist, who were detained and in limbo in Lakan Prison in Rasht, Gilan Province, were released on bail after the completion of interrogations and being charged.
به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، امروز چهارشنبه ۱ شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۲، جلوه جواهری، فعال حقوق زنان، ساکن استان گیلان، علیرغم گذشت ۷ روز از تاریخ دستگیری، در محرومیت از حقوق اولیه یک متهم برای دسترسی به وکیل و حتی اطلاع یافتن خانواده وی از مصادیق حقوقی اتهامات وی محروم و در بازداشتگاه اداره اطلاعات رشت، دوران بازجویی خود را سپری می کند و اما در پی عدم پاسخگویی صحیح باپرس دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب رشت به خانواده این فعال حقوق زنان، از مکان دقیق نگهداری او اطلاعی در دسترس نیست و تداوم این شرایط نگرانی خانواده و از جمله مادر جلوه جواهری را دو چندان کرده است.
گوهر بیات، مادر جلوه جواهری، در گفتگو با شبکه شرق، پیرامون آخرین وضعیت فرزندش اعلام کرد:”جلوه جواهری چهارشنبه هفته قبل همراه با ۱۱ نفر دیگر بازداشت شده است. او روز پنجشنبه با ما تماس کوتاهی گرفت و گفت حالش خوب است و بازداشت شده اما نگفت کجاست و ما از آن زمان به بعد، هیچ خبری از او نداریم.”
مادر جلوه جواهری در ادامه افزود:”ما چندین بار به صورت حضوری به دادسرا رفتیم و حتی با مقامات قضائی هم حرف زدیم ولی مدام می گویند که داریم بررسی میکنیم. ما نه می دانیم جلوه چرا بازداشت شده است و نه می دانیم اتهامات او چیست و نه می دانیم نهاد بازداشت کننده اش کجاست. جلوه از پنجشنبه به بعد، تماس نگرفته و من هیچ اطلاعی از وضعیت دخترم و حالش ندارم.”
وی در بخش دیگری از اظهاراتش با بیان اینکه هم ما و هم جلوه بلاتکلیف هستیم، تشریح کرد:”جلوه برای مردم کار می کرد و فعال فرهنگی و اجتماعی بود و در زمینه حقوق زنان کار می کرد. هرچه به مسئولان می گوییم او کاری نکرده، چرا بازداشت اش کرده اید، می گویند شما خبر ندارید! از چه چیزی خبر نداریم؟ حداقل باید به ما بگویند کجاست، اتهامش چیست و چرا بازداشت شده اما هیچ خبری از او نداریم.”
لازم به اشاره است، در تاریخ ۲۵ رداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، جلوه جواهری، توسط ماموران اداره اطلاعات استان گیلان، دستگیر و پس از تفتیس منزل و توقیف برخی لوازم شخصی اش از قبیل گوشی تلفن همراه، لپ تاپ و غیره، برای تشکیل پرونده قضایی و انجام تحقیقات به بازداشتگاه آن نهاد امنیتی منتقل شد اما از مکان نگهداری وی اطلاعی در دست نیست.
جلوه جواهری، پیش از این هم در تاریخ ۵ دی ماه ۱۳۹۸، به همراه شماری دیگری از شهروندان، در جریان برگزاری مراسم چهلم نوید بهبودی، از جانباختگان اعتراضات آبان ۱۳۹۸، در پی یورش نیروهای امنیتی به آن مراسم، بازداشت و پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه نیروی انتظامی رشت و انجام مقدمات اولیه برای تحقیقات بیشتر به بازداشتگاه اداره اطلاعات شهر رشت مرکز استان گیلان منتقل شد و در تاریخ ۱۱ دی ماه ۱۳۹۸، پس از طی مراحل بازجویی ها و تفهیم اتهام، به زندان لاکان(مرکزی) شهر رشت منتقل و در تاریخ ۲۴ دی ماه ۱۳۹۸، با تودیع قرار وثیقه آزاد شده بود.
