On June 30, 2026, a group of local militia known as "Jash" clashed with a group of Kurdish youths from the "Seyyed" family of Mahabad near the Bank Tejarat in the city. They attacked them with knives. "Seyyed Siavash Alak," who was severely injured, died a few hours later.
