The military wing of the Kurdistan Free Life Party, known as the East Kurdistan Defence Forces, has identified four of its members who lost their lives during a clash in Mahabad.
A statement released on 3 July 2025 indicated that the confrontation occurred in the "Sharstin" heights of Mahabad, resulting in the deaths of four party members.
According to the statement, the individuals were identified as Zarin Akbash from Turkish Kurdistan, Parasto Safaeipour from Marivan, Khalil Chichek from the city of Mush in Turkish Kurdistan, and Rasoul Yeganeh from the city of Khoy.
Previously, the command of the East Kurdistan Defence Forces had confirmed the occurrence of this clash. Additionally, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, citing a statement from the Hamzeh Headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported the destruction of this team and the deaths of four individuals involved in the clash. Official Iranian media published images of the bodies of these four individuals.
نیروهای مدافع شرق کردستان، شاخه نظامی حزب حیات آزاد کردستان، هویت چهار عضو خود را که در جریان درگیری در مهاباد جان باخته بودند، اعلام کرد.
در بیانیه ای که در 13 تیر 1404 منتشر شد، اعلام شد که این درگیری در ارتفاعات "شارستین" مهاباد رخ داده و چهار عضو این حزب جان خود را از دست داده اند.
بر اساس این بیانیه، هویت این چهار نفر زارین آکباش از کردستان ترکیه، پرستو صفایی پور از مریوان، خلیل چیچک از شهر موش کردستان ترکیه و رسول یگانه از شهر خوی عنوان شده است.
پیشتر فرماندهی نیروهای مدافع شرق کردستان وقوع این درگیری را تایید کرده بود. همچنین، صدا و سیمای جمهوری اسلامی ایران با انتشار تصاویری و به نقل از بیانیه قرارگاه حمزه سپاه پاسداران، از انهدام این تیم و جان باختن چهار نفر از نیروهای طرف درگیری خبر داده بود. در گزارش رسانه های رسمی ایران، تصاویری از پیکر این چهار نفر منتشر شده است.
