Mohammad Nowruzi, an Afghan citizen residing in Iran, who was arrested at his home on January 15, 2026, has been sentenced to six years in prison by the court. According to reports received by the Follow-up Committee, Mohammad Nowruzi was transferred to Malard Intelligence after his arrest and, after four days, was moved to Ghezel Hesar Prison with physical assault. During this time, he was constantly threatened with deportation from Iran. He was eventually released from prison on a bail of one billion tomans and then sentenced by the court to six years in prison on charges of "assembly and collusion and propaganda against the regime." This sentence is currently under appeal.
