On 20 January 2026, Milad Otmani's family was summoned to Tehran, where his body was handed over without any explanation. It remains unclear whether Milad Otmani died from the severity of his gunshot wounds or if he was subjected to torture and killed after his arrest.
Milad Otmani, along with Diyar Pourchehriq, a Kurdish resident from the village of Patevir near Salmas, was targeted by direct gunfire from security forces in the Punak area of Tehran. Diyar Pourchehriq died at the scene, and until 20 January 2026, there was no official information about Milad Otmani's fate following his injury and arrest. Milad Otmani was originally from the village of Haqvaran near Salmas, and his body was buried there after being handed over to his family.
میلاد اطمانی شامگاه ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در جریان اعتراضات مردمی تهران پس از زخمی شدن توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شد. تا ۳۰ دی ۱۴۰۴ هیچ اطلاعی از سرنوشت و محل نگهداری او در دست نبود. در نهایت، در ۳۰ دی ۱۴۰۴ خانواده میلاد اطمانی به تهران فراخوانده شده و پیکر او بدون ارائه توضیحی به خانواده تحویل داده شد. هنوز مشخص نیست که میلاد اطمانی در نتیجه شدت جراحات ناشی از تیراندازی جان باخته یا پس از بازداشت تحت شکنجه قرار گرفته و کشته شده است.
میلاد اطمانی به همراه دیار پورچهریق، شهروند کرد اهل روستای پتەویر از توابع سلماس، در منطقه پونک تهران هدف شلیک مستقیم نیروهای امنیتی قرار گرفته بودند. دیار پورچهریق در همان محل جان باخته بود و تا تاریخ ۳۰ دی ۱۴۰۴ هیچ اطلاع رسمی از سرنوشت میلاد اطمانی پس از زخمی شدن و بازداشت در دست نبود. میلاد اطمانی اصالتا اهل روستای حق وران از توابع سلماس بوده و پیکر او پس از تحویل توسط خانواده در این روستا خاکسپاری شده است.
