On Sunday, May 31, 2025, Soleiman Aydin Mohammadi, a national civil activist and political prisoner held in Evin Prison, was released after serving part of his 9-month prison sentence.
A knowledgeable source reported that Mr. Mohammadi was conditionally released from Evin Prison on Sunday of the current week after serving 4 months of his 9-year prison sentence.
Soleiman Aydin Mohammadi was tried on May 26, 2024, by Judge Abolqasem Salavati, the head of Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran. However, another part of this citizen's defense was presented to Judge Abolqasem Salavati on July 8, 2024.
The final hearing on the charges against this national civil activist was held on September 9, 2024, by Judge Abolqasem Salavati, the head of Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran. This national civil activist was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment for "assembly and collusion with the intent to commit a crime against internal/external security" and "propaganda activity against the regime," but 2 years of the total sentence were suspended.
After completing the legal proceedings and applying Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the most severe punishment of 1 year of imprisonment was enforced for Soleiman Aydin Mohammadi. He was arrested in early February 2025 to serve his sentence, and after serving 2 months of his criminal sentence, an additional 3 months of his 1-year prison sentence were also suspended.
Soleiman Aydin Mohammadi was arrested on February 5, 2024, by security agents with judicial authorization in Ardabil Province and then transferred to Tehran and Ward 209 of the Ministry of Intelligence. After undergoing interrogation and being charged, he was released on March 3, 2024, on bail of 800 million tomans and was charged by the investigator of Branch 5 of the Tehran District 33 Prosecutor's Office in late April 2024.
This national civil activist had previously been arrested by security agents during protest demonstrations held in 2006.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز یکشنبه ۱۱ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۴، سلیمان آیدین محمدی، فعال ملی مدنی و زندانی سیاسی محبوس در زندان اوین، پس از تحمل بخشی از حبس تعزیری ۹ ماهه لازم به اجرای خود آزاد شد.
به نقل از یک فرد مطلع در گفتگو با گزارشگر حقوق بشر در ایران:”اقای محمدی، روز یکشنبه هفته جاری در حالی که ۴ ماه از حبس تعزیری ۹ ساله خود را سپری کرده بود، بطور مشروط از زندان اوین آزاد شد.”
لازم به ذکر است، سلیمان آیدین محمدی، در تاریخ ۵ خرداد ماه ۱۴۰۳، توسط قاضی ابوالقاسم صلواتی ـ رئیس شعبه ۱۵دادگاه انقلاب تهران، محاکمه شده بود اما بخش دیگری از دفاعیات این شهروند در تاریخ ۱۷ تیر ماه ۱۴۰۳، به قاضی ابوالقاسم صلواتی، ارائه شده بود.
همچنین، جلسه نهایی دادرسی به اتهامات این فعال ملی مدنی، در تاریخ ۱۸ شهریور ماه ۱۴۰۳، توسط قاضی ابوالقاسم صلواتی ـ رئیس شعبه ۱۵دادگاه انقلاب تهران، برگزار و این فعال ملی مدنی، از بابت اتهام «اجتماع و تبانی به قصد ارتکاب جرم علیه امنیت داخلی / خارجی» و فعالیت تبلیغی علیه نظام» به تحمل ۳ سال حبس تعزیری محکوم شد ولی میزان ۲ سال از مجموع این حکم تعلیق شده بود.
پس از اتمام مراحل دادرسی و اعمال ماده ۱۳۴ مجازات اسلامی، تحمل اشد مجازات به میزان ۱سال حبس تعزیری برای سلیمان آیدین محمدی، لازم به اجرا شد و پس از بازداشت در اوایل اسفند ماه ۱۴۰۳، برای تحمل دوران حبس در حالی که ۲ ماه از تحمل دوران محکومیت کیفری وی گذشته بود میزان ۳ ماه دیگر از حبس تعزیری ۱ ساله وی هم تعلیق شده بود.
سلیمان آیدین محمدی، در تاریخ ۱۶ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۲، توسط ماموران امنیتی با نیابت قضایی در استان اردبیل، بازداشت و سپس به تهران و بند ۲۰۹ وزارت اطلاعات، منتقل و پس از طی مراحل بازجویی ها و تفهیم اتهام، در تاریخ ۱۳ اسفند ماه ۱۴۰۲، با تودیع وثیقه ای به مبلغ ۸۰۰ میلیون تومان، آزاد شد و اواخر فروردین ماه ۱۴۰۳، توسط بازپرس شعبه ۵دادسرای ناحیه ۳۳ تهران، تفهیم اتهام شده بود.
این فعال ملی مدنی، پیشتر هم در جریان تظاهرات اعتراضی که در سال ۱۳۸۵ برگزار شده بود توسط ماموران امنیتی بازداشت شده بود.
