Setayesh Darougheh, a sixteen-year-old, Setayesh Amiri, a seventeen-year-old, both students, and Erfanah Honar, a nineteen-year-old, were previously arrested by security forces in Shiraz in connection with the serial poisoning of students.
From the beginning of December 2022 to March 7, 2023, at least 290 attacks on schools were reported, affecting at least 7,068 students. These students are from only 103 schools that have reported statistics on this issue.
As of that date, attacks had been recorded in at least 99 cities across 28 provinces in the country. The highest number of recorded attacks occurred on March 4, with 81 incidents.
These attacks resumed and expanded after an incident that coincided with the Nowruz holiday in 2023, following the reopening of schools.
