Behrouz Jahandar Malekabadi

Behrouz Jahandar Malekabadi, born in Isfahan, was a student of economics at the University of Tehran and a member of the professional and political cadres of the "Organisation of Struggle for the Freedom of the Working Class." He passed away in prison in 1982.

In 1975, he joined the Marxist section of the People's Mojahedin Organisation and engaged in clandestine activities. In the autumn of 1977, during an armed confrontation with the Shah's police, he managed to escape despite being injured in the hand. After the 1979 revolution, he continued his activities with the Organisation of Struggle.

On 29 December 1981, his home was surrounded, and he, along with his wife, Nasrin Izadi Vahidi, and their 10-month-old daughter, was arrested and transferred to Evin Prison. Their infant was handed over to the family two days later.

In prison, he was subjected to severe torture, and his family was denied any visits, contact, or information about his condition.

According to documents, he died on 17 February 1982, less than two months after his arrest, due to the severity of the torture in Evin Prison. There is no information available about any trial, formal charges, or his defence.

Prison officials refused to hand over his body to the family and informed them of his death via a phone call in an inappropriate manner. His burial place was concealed, but the family later discovered that he was buried in Khavaran Cemetery.

His wife, Nasrin Izadi Vahidi, was also executed by firing squad on 11 March 1982.
