Armita Geravand, a student who was in the intensive care unit at Fajr Hospital in Tehran, passed away after 28 days. Reports indicate that Armita Geravand experienced a sudden drop in blood pressure, leading to a fall and a brain injury, which resulted in continuous seizures and reduced oxygen supply to the brain.
It has been reported that Armita Geravand and two of her friends had an altercation with officers enforcing hijab regulations on their way to school, during which Armita was involved in an incident.
On 2 October 2023, a portion of the CCTV footage from Shohada Metro Station in Tehran was released. The absence of videos from inside the train carriage and the moment Armita entered the station has added to the ambiguities surrounding this event. Some witnesses have reported that officers confronted individuals for not adhering to mandatory hijab rules in these areas.
On 4 October 2023, the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers' Trade Associations announced that the head of security at the Ministry of Education had visited Armita Geravand's school and threatened teachers with severe penalties, including dismissal, for sharing any news or photos of Armita Geravand.
Armita Geravand was born in April 2006 in Kermanshah, and her family, originally from Kuhdasht, Lorestan, had migrated to Tehran.
آرمیتا گراوند، دانش آموزی که در بخش مراقبت های ویژه بیمارستان فجر تهران بستری بود، پس از ۲۸ روز درگذشت.
بر اساس گزارش ها، آرمیتا گراوند پس از افت ناگهانی فشار خون دچار سقوط و ضربه به مغز شد که به تشنج مداوم و کاهش اکسیژن رسانی مغزی منجر شد.
گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که آرمیتا گراوند و دو نفر از دوستانش در مسیر مدرسه با مامورانی که تذکر حجاب می دادند، مشاجره کردند و در این جریان، آرمیتا دچار حادثه شد.
در تاریخ ۱۰ مهر ۱۴۰۲،بخشی از فیلم دوربین های مداربسته مترو میدان شهدا تهران را منتشر شد . عدم انتشار ویدیوهای داخل واگن و لحظه ورود آرمیتا به ایستگاه، بر ابهامات این واقعه افزوده است. برخی از شاهدان از برخورد ماموران به دلیل رعایت نکردن حجاب اجباری در این مکان ها خبر داده اند.
در تاریخ ۱۲ مهر ۱۴۰۲، شورای هماهنگی تشکل های صنفی فرهنگیان ایران اعلام کرد که رییس حراست وزارت آموزش و پرورش با حضور در مدرسه آرمیتا گراوند، معلمان را تهدید کرده بود که انتشار هرگونه خبر یا عکسی از آرمیتا گراوند جریمه سنگینی خواهد داشت و معلم خاطی اخراج خواهد شد.
آرمیتا گراوند متولد فروردین ماه ۱۳۸۵ در کرمانشاه بود و خانواده اش اصالتاً اهل کوهدشت لرستان هستند که به تهران مهاجرت کردند.
