Alireza Peyghambari, who is currently imprisoned in Greater Tehran Prison, has been sentenced to death by Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. His case is now under review for appeal at Branch 9 of the Supreme Court.
Alireza Peyghambari was arrested on 9 January 2026, coinciding with nationwide protests. He was temporarily released on bail in March of the same year.
His first trial session was held in May 2026. The second session took place in early June at Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, after which he was re-arrested and transferred back to Greater Tehran Prison.
A knowledgeable source indicated that Alireza Peyghambari did not participate in the protest gatherings and was inadvertently caught in the crowd after leaving his workplace. Despite this, the Revolutionary Court charged him with "enmity against God" and sentenced him to death.
Further information regarding the evidence used by the court, the formation of the case, and Mr. Peyghambari's access to a chosen lawyer has not been released. Judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic have not yet provided a public and documented explanation regarding his case.

علیرضا پیغمبری ۱۹ دی ۱۴۰۴، هم زمان با اعتراضات سراسری، بازداشت شد و پس از مدتی، در اسفند با سپردن وثیقه به طور موقت آزاد شد.
نخستین جلسه محاکمه او در اردیبهشت سال ۱۴۰۵ برگزار شد. دومین جلسه نیز اوایل خرداد در شعبه ۲۳ دادگاه انقلاب تهران تشکیل شد و مأموران پس از پایان جلسه، او را بار دیگر بازداشت و به زندان تهران بزرگ منتقل کردند.
یک منبع مطلع گفته است که علیرضا پیغمبری در تجمعات اعتراضی شرکت نداشته و پس از خروج از محل کارش، به طور ناخواسته در ازدحام ناشی از اعتراضات قرار گرفته است. با این حال، دادگاه انقلاب او را به «محاربه» متهم و به مجازات اعدام محکوم کرده است.
اطلاعات بیشتری درباره شواهد مورد استناد دادگاه، نحوه شکل گیری پرونده و میزان دسترسی آقای پیغمبری به وکیل انتخابی منتشر نشده است. مقام های قضایی جمهوری اسلامی نیز تاکنون توضیح علنی و مستندی درباره پرونده او ارائه نکرده اند.
