Daniyal Dabiri, a writer and poet, was detained from 3 January to 14 February and held at Greater Tehran Prison. Judge Iman Afshari sentenced him to five years in prison. According to published information, despite having autism and severe depression, Dabiri has requested a review of his mental health and release through his lawyer. The forensic medical authority has stated that he requires medical care but not imprisonment. Additionally, his lawyer raised the possibility of temporary release on bail of five billion tomans (in the form of property collateral), but as of the publication of this report, the final outcome of this request and his release status have not been officially confirmed.
