It has been reported that government agencies requested 500 million tomans from the family for the release of the bodies of a father and son. The bodies were buried in their native village on 21 Dey 1404.
Mehdi Shafiei and his son were fatally shot in Eslamshahr on the evening of 19 Dey. Mehdi, who was 44 years old, was killed by a direct gunshot to the heart at approximately 8:30 PM in Eslamshahr. His son, Mani, passed away around 10 PM a few streets away due to a gunshot wound to his spleen.
Reports indicate that Mani was unaware of his father's death at the time of his own passing. The father and son were close, shared a love for sports, and regularly attended the gym together. Mehdi worked in construction, while Mani was an accounting student and also worked as an accountant at a company.
The bodies of Mehdi and Mani were buried on 21 Dey in the village of Chenar, located in the Asadabad district of Hamadan Province. On the morning of 27 Bahman 1404, as the fortieth-day memorial ceremonies for several deceased individuals, including Mehdi and Mani Shafiei, approached, security forces went to the village of Chenar to prevent the ceremonies and detained many people in the village.
گزارش شده است که نهادهای حکومتی برای تحویل پیکر پدر و پسر مبلغ ۵۰۰ میلیون تومان از خانواده آنان درخواست کرده اند. پیکر این دو نفر در ۲۱ دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ در روستای زادگاهشان به خاک سپرده شده است.
مهدی شفیعی و پسرش در شامگاه ۱۹ دی ماه در اسلام شهر با اصابت گلوله جان باختند. مهدی ۴۴ ساله حدود ساعت ۸:۳۰ شب در اسلام شهر با شلیک مستقیم گلوله به قلبش کشته شد و حدود ساعت ۱۰ شب پسرش مانی چند کوچه آن طرف تر در اثر اصابت تیر به طحالش درگذشت.
گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که مانی هنگام جان باختن از کشته شدن پدرش آگاه نبود. این پدر و پسر به هم نزدیک و همیشه با هم بودند و به ورزش علاقه داشتند و با هم به باشگاه بدنسازی می رفتند. مهدی در کار ساختمان بود و مانی دانشجوی حسابداری بود و همزمان با تحصیل در یک شرکت به عنوان حسابدار کار می کرد.
پیکر مهدی و مانی در ۲۱ دی ماه در روستای چنار از توابع اسدآباد استان همدان به خاک سپرده شد. در صبح ۲۷ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۴، همزمان با نزدیک شدن به زمان برگزاری مراسم چهلم برخی از جان باختگان از جمله مهدی و مانی شفیعی، نیروهای امنیتی به روستای چنار رفتند تا مانع برگزاری مراسم شوند و افراد بسیاری را در روستا بازداشت کردند.
