According to Human Rights in Iran, today, Monday, January 28, 2025, Babak Paknia, a human rights activist and attorney, and a member of the Central Bar Association, was summoned to the Disciplinary Court of the Central Bar Association with a written notice. This was due to his information dissemination regarding his client's case during the 2022 protests.
In releasing this news, the attorney wrote: "The Department of Supervision and Inspection of Lawyers, based on the report from the Protection and Information Center of the Judiciary Advisors, has considered the content I published regarding the explanation of the Criminal Procedure Code and the clarification of the rights of the accused during the 2022 protests as behavior unbecoming of an attorney and has submitted a request for my prosecution to the Bar Association's board of directors."
Additionally, the issued notice stated that Babak Paknia must appear at the Disciplinary Court of the Central Bar Association within 10 days of the notice to defend himself against the accusation of "behavior unbecoming of an attorney through activities in cyberspace."
It is noteworthy that Babak Paknia was arrested by security forces in the late hours of Sunday, September 25, 2022, and was transferred for interrogation to Ward 2A of the IRGC located in Evin Prison. He was released from Evin Prison on bail on November 2, 2022.
Babak Paknia is among the attorneys of political prisoners and has handled several cases of detainees from the November 2019 protests, including the case of Amirhossein Moradi.
روز دوشنبه ۸بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۳، بابک پاک نیا به دادسرای انتظامی کانون وکلای مرکز، احضار شد.
به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، امروز دوشنبه ۸ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۳، بابک پاک نیا، فعال حقوق بشر و وکیل دادگستری و از اعضای کانون وکلای مرکز، به دلیل اطلاع رسانی درباره پرونده موکل خود در جریان اعتراضات ۱۴۰۱، با دریافت ابلاغیه کتبی به دادسرای انتظامی کانون وکلای مرکز احضار شد.
این وکیل دادگستری ضمن انتشار این خبر نوشت:“اداره نظارت و بازرسی وکلا، مستند به گزارش حفاظت و اطلاعات مرکز مشاوران قوه، مطالب منتشر شده توسط اینجانب در باب توضیح قانون آیین دادرسی کیفری و تشریح حقوق متهم در جریان اعتراضات ۱۴۰۱ را مصداق رفتار خلاف شأن وکالت دانسته و تقاضای تعقیب من را به هیات مدیره کانون تقدیم نموده است.”
همچنین، در ابلاغیه صادره اعلام شده که بابک پاک نیا باید ظرف مدت ۱۰ روز از ابلاغ جهت دفاع از اتهام مبنی بر «رفتار خلاف شان از طریق فعالیت در فضای مجازی» در دادسرای انتظامی کانون وکلای مرکز حضور یابد.
لازم به ذکر است، بابک پاک نیا، در ساعات پایانی یکشنبه ۳ مهر ماه ۱۴۰۱، توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت و جهت بازجوئی به بند ۲ الف سپاه پاسداران واقع در زندان اوین منتقل و در تاریخ ۱۱ آبان ماه ۱۴۰۱، با تودیع وثیقه از زندان اوین آزاد شد.
بابک پاک نیا، از جمله وکلای زندانیان سیاسی است که پرونده های چند تن از بازداشت شدگان اعتراضات آبان ۱۳۹۸ را بر عهده داشت که از جمله این پرونده ها مربوط به امیرحسین مرادی بود.
