اسماعیل محمدی، عضو حزب کومله، در اردیبهشت ۱۳۸۱ پس از ورود مخفیانه از عراق به ایران در شهر بوکان بازداشت شد. او در مدت بازداشت، تحت شکنجه های جسمی و روانی قرار گرفت و در دادگاه به اتهام «محاربه» و «سوءقصد به جان مقامات حکومتی» به اعدام محکوم شد. آقای محمدی در صبح ۱۳ شهریور ۱۳۸۴، در حیاط زندان ارومیه به دار آویخته شد. پیکر او پس از پرداخت مبلغی به عنوان «شیرینی» به خانواده اش تحویل داده شد.

He was hanged in the yard of Orumiyeh Prison on the morning of 4 September 2005 (13 Shahrivar 1384). His body was released to his family only after they paid a sum of money.
Esmaeal Mohammadi, a member of the Komeleh Party, was arrested in the city of Bukan in May 2002 (Ordibehesht 1381) after secretly entering Iran from Iraq.
During his detention, he was reportedly subjected to physical and psychological torture. He was later convicted on charges of “enmity against God” (moharebeh) and “attempting to assassinate government officials,” and was sentenced to death.
Mr. Mohammadi was hanged in the yard of Orumiyeh Prison on the morning of 4 September 2005 (13 Shahrivar 1384). His body was released to his family only after they paid a sum of money described as a “gratuity” or “fee” (shirini).
