On Tuesday, Farvardin 18, 1405 (April 7, 2026), a Kurdish citizen residing in Mashhad and a former political prisoner was arrested by government forces. After six days in detention, he was temporarily released on bail set at 2 billion and 500 million tomans pending the completion of legal proceedings.
He was interrogated at Branch 901 of the Mashhad Revolutionary Court Prosecutor’s Office, presided over by investigator “Vahedian,” without being formally informed of clear legal charges. Based on the course of interrogation, the judicial authorities appear to have initiated this case due to his participation in a memorial ceremony marking the seventh day of the death of Khosrow Ali-Kordi (a deceased lawyer and former political prisoner). He has reportedly been accused of “communication with foreign entities.”
