Peyman Ebrahimi

According to Human Rights in Iran, on Monday, November 18, 2024, Peyman Ebrahimi Dinor, a national civil activist residing in Tabriz, the capital of East Azerbaijan Province, was summoned to Branch 7 of the Enforcement of Judgments at the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office of Tabriz after receiving a written summons.

Based on the notice issued on November 18, 2024, Peyman Ebrahimi Dinor was given a 5-day deadline to appear for the execution of a sentence regarding "displaying matters contrary to public moral decency and chastity."

It is noteworthy that this civil and cultural activist was sentenced in late December 2023 by Judge Rahim Hamlebar, head of Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz, for charges of "propaganda against the regime through publishing images and content opposing the regime on social media" and "insulting the leadership on social media," receiving a total of 1 year, 10 months, and 17 days of imprisonment. Shortly after, he was summoned to the East Azerbaijan Province Court of Appeals to present his defense.

Additionally, in the second part of the same legal case, Peyman Ebrahimi Dinor was acquitted of the charge of "propaganda against the regime and inciting unrest through social media" by the judge of Branch 118 of the Criminal Court 2 of Tabriz, and a dismissal order was issued.

Peyman Ebrahimi Dinor was arrested on August 26, 2023, in Tabriz by intelligence officers. After being transferred to the detention center of that security agency and undergoing interrogation and initial charge notification, he was then transferred to Tabriz Central Prison. He was released on bail of 3 billion rials on October 25, 2023.

This cultural activist received separate summonses in mid-December 2023 for hearings scheduled on December 13, 2023, at Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Tabriz, and December 11, 2023, at Branch 118 of the Criminal Court 2 of Tabriz.
