According to reports, on 30 October 2023, Shafi Babakri from the village of Kani Rash in Oshnavieh County, West Azerbaijan Province, was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of that county to two years of imprisonment and a fine of 240 million rials. This sentence was issued due to the charge of membership in one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government.
It has been reported that Shafi Babakri was summoned to the Intelligence Office of Oshnavieh County on 6 July 2023. After being detained and undergoing interrogation, he was released on bail until the completion of the judicial process.
بر اساس گزارش ها، در تاریخ 8 آبان 1402، شفیع بابکری از روستای کانی رش در شهرستان اشنویه، استان آذربایجان غربی، توسط دادگاه انقلاب آن شهرستان به 2 سال حبس تعزیری و پرداخت 240 میلیون ریال جریمه نقدی محکوم شد. این حکم به دلیل اتهام عضویت در یکی از احزاب کرد اپوزیسیون حکومت ایران صادر شده است.
گفته شده است که شفیع بابکری در تاریخ 15 تیر 1402 به اداره اطلاعات شهرستان اشنویه احضار و پس از بازداشت و طی مراحل بازجویی، با تودیع قرار وثیقه تا اتمام مراحل دادرسی آزاد شد.
