Ghazal Marzban, a Christian convert and civil activist imprisoned in Evin Prison, has been sentenced to nine years and eight months in prison by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. The charges against her include "propaganda against the regime" and "assembly and collusion against national security."
Ghazal Marzban was arrested at midnight on 25 Dey 1404 when security forces raided her home and transferred her to the Ministry of Intelligence detention centre. She had previously been arrested and convicted, having been released from Evin Prison on 15 Dey 1403 after serving two months. She was sentenced to six months in prison and 74 lashes for "propaganda activities against the regime."
This Christian citizen, a law graduate, had previously faced prosecution for charges such as "appearing in public without a religious hijab" and "chanting slogans." According to a previous ruling, two months of her imprisonment were enforceable, while the remainder of her sentence, including the lashes, was suspended for five years.

Her hunger strike continued until June 6, 2026. Her physical and mental condition has reportedly become critical. In addition, family visits have been suspended for seven weeks following prisoners’ protests over conditions in the women’s ward and the conduct of prison officers and officials.

این شهروند مسیحی که فارغ التحصیل رشته حقوق است، پیش تر به دلیل اتهاماتی چون «حضور در انظار عمومی بدون حجاب شرعی» و «سر دادن شعار» تحت پیگرد قرار گرفته بود. بر اساس حکم پیشین، دو ماه از حبس او قابل اجرا و باقی مانده مجازات، از جمله حکم شلاق، به مدت پنج سال تعلیق شده بود.
غزل مرزبان، نوکیش مسیحی و فارغ التحصیل رشته حقوق، در ۲ خرداد ۱۴۰۵ در اعتراض به حکم بیش از ۹ سال حبس خود، اعتصاب غذا را آغاز کرد. اعتصاب غذای او تا ۱۶ خرداد ۱۴۰۵ ادامه داشت. وضعیت جسمی و روحی او بحرانی گزارش شده است. همچنین، به دلیل اعتراضات زندانیان به شرایط بند زنان و رفتار مأموران و مسئولان زندان، ملاقات های خانوادگی او به مدت هفت هفته قطع شده است.
