Habib Mousavi, a poet and writer from Gorgan, was arrested on 31 July 2023 after being summoned to the Gorgan Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps intelligence. Reports indicate that he has been transferred to Amirabad Prison in Gorgan. The charges against him include "propaganda against the regime" and "spreading falsehoods with the intent to disturb public opinion."

His fine sentence, a poet and writer was confirmed by the fourteenth branch of the appeals court of Golestan province. Mr. Mousavi was previously sentenced to pay two hundred million Rials (~US$400) fine in lieu of eight months of imprisonment.
