Amirhosein Hatami

Amirhossein Hatami was arrested in Tehran on 8 January 2024. He is one of seven defendants in a case that has resulted in a death sentence issued by Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court for allegedly setting fire to the Basij base 185 of Martyr Mahmoud Kaveh near Namjou Street in eastern Tehran.

Other defendants in this case include Mohammad Amin Beiglari, Shahin Vahid, Parastoo Kalor, Shahab Zahdi, Abolfazl Salehi Siyavashani, Yaser Rajai Far, and Ali Fahim. They face charges of moharebeh, corruption on earth, arson of public facilities, and conspiracy to commit crimes against internal and external security. The death sentences for these defendants were issued on 7 February 2024.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting has released videos of forced confessions from these individuals. In the videos, the faces of the defendants are blurred, and their hair appears to be closely shaved.

Informed sources from the Committee to Follow Up on the Status of Detainees have reported that Amirhossein Hatami, like the other defendants, has had no contact or visits with his family since his arrest 40 days ago. According to the latest reports, he is being held in solitary confinement at Qazalhasar Prison in Karaj.

The case of this individual is currently under review by the Supreme Court. He was denied the right to have a designated lawyer during the initial trial, and the appointed lawyers have not yet had the opportunity to study or intervene in the case.

The death sentence for Amirhossein Hatami, one of the seven detainees in the Kaveh Basij case, was carried out on 2 April 2026.
