In February 2019, during widespread labour protests in Khuzestan, it was reported that an individual was detained by security forces. The Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz tried the person on charges of membership in a group and actions against national security. Additionally, the individual faced accusations of involvement in an operation that resulted in the deaths of several security personnel.
On 4 October 2025, the execution of six individuals was carried out in secret at Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz.
