Arya Kasaei, a graphic designer and founder of the Kargah Studio, and Elaheh Naqilou, a designer and graphic artist, have been arrested by security forces in Tehran. More than ten days have passed, and their families and relatives still have no information about their whereabouts or condition.
According to published reports, Arya Kasaei was arrested by intelligence agents in Tehran on 19 July 2026 (28 Tir 1405). More than ten days after his arrest, no clear information has been released regarding his place of detention, his physical condition, the circumstances of his detention, or the reason for his arrest.
Elaheh Naqilou, another graphic designer and a colleague of Arya Kasaei, was also arrested. More than ten days have likewise passed since her arrest, yet her family and relatives remain unaware of her fate or where she is being held.
Reports indicate that the two artists were arrested a few days after organizing an event about left-handedness. However, no official explanation has been provided regarding any connection between that event and their arrests, nor have any formal charges against either designer been made public.
