Siamak Masihpour, a poet, was arrested on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. Mehdi Mousavi, another poet, reported that Siamak Masihpour, who has an educational background in electronic engineering, is not only a pioneering poet and writer but also a professional athlete in the fields of flying, diving, and canyoning. In 2009, he was arrested for participating in protests and, after enduring 67 days in solitary confinement, was sentenced to prison and flogging. He served this sentence in Ward 350 of Evin Prison, during which time his father was also harassed and detained.
Siamak Masihpour has now been transferred to the Greater Tehran Central Penitentiary (Fashafuyeh Prison) and is in very poor sanitary conditions, with a dental infection endangering his health. It was added that one should not forget that the place for a poet is not prison, nor is it for a protester or critic.

مهدی موسوی، شاعر، با اعلام این خبر درباره سیامک مسیح پور نوشته است: «سیامک مسیح پور که در زمینه ی مهندسی الکترونیک تحصیل کرده، نه تنها شاعر و نویسنده ای پیشرو، که ورزشکاری حرفه ای در حوزه های پرواز، غواصی و دره نوردی است.
او در سال ۱۳۸۸ نیز به جرم شرکت در اعتراضات، دستگیر و پس از تحمل ۶۷ روز انفرادی، به زندان و شلاق محکوم شده بود. او این محکومیت را در بند ۳۵۰ اوین طی کرده بود، درحالی که پدرش را نیز مورد آزار قرار داده و بازداشت کرده بودند.
سیامک مسیح پور هم اکنون به زندان تهران بزرگ (زندان فشافویه) منتقل شده و در شرایط بسیار بد بهداشتی به سر می برد، به طوری که دندان او دچار عفونت شده و وضعیت سلامتی اش به خطر افتاده است.»
او اضافه کرد: «از خاطر نبریم که جای شاعر زندان نیست و جای معترض و منتقد هم.»
