Zia Nabavi

Hasti Amiri and Zia Nabavi, two students from Allameh Tabataba'i University, have each been sentenced to one year of imprisonment by the Tehran Revolutionary Court. The sentence was issued by Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court and has been communicated to them. They were charged with "propaganda against the regime."

The court session addressing the charges against these two students was held on 10 July in Branch 26 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court. Prior to this, on 24 April, they were informed of the charges at the Evin Prosecutor's Office. The case was opened following their protest against the serial poisoning of school students.

During a gathering held on 7 March of the previous year at Allameh Tabataba'i University, more than thirty students were banned from entering the university and faced new disciplinary cases. Simultaneously, the university's student Basij issued a statement calling for security measures against students like Hasti Amiri and Zia Nabavi.

Hasti Amiri was arrested on 31 July of the previous year to serve a one-year prison sentence and was transferred to Evin Prison, eventually being released on 7 February 2023. Zia Nabavi has previously experienced arrest and judicial actions due to his activities.
