Five members of a family were arrested in Karaj between January 10 and January 18, 2026. Information received by the follow-up committee indicates that Ali Asghar Deyoband, 29 years old and a resident of Karaj, was arrested at his workplace on January 10. On the same day, Hassan Deyoband, 30 years old, was also arrested at his workplace. Ali Akbar Deyoband, 15 years old and another member of this family, was arrested from the family home on January 11. A week later, on January 18, Mohammad Ali Deyoband, 50 years old, was arrested at his workplace. Additionally, Hamidreza Forouhar, 20 years old and another relative of this family, was arrested at his workplace on the same day, January 18. Some of those arrested had brief contact with their families; however, at the time of this report, no information has been released regarding the charges and the status of their cases.
